About this editorial team
Rachid Mermans has tracked the Belgian market since 2018 and tries everything first-hand focused mainly on licences. Lives and works in Brussel.

How we test. we walk through registration ourselves, start with a deposit of our own money, pull the money out and time the whole route. We check the operator against the Gaming Commission's white and black lists and dig through the general terms. Anything that could not be checked is cut at the final edit.
Weekly limit, age bar and exclusion
The Belgian framework around player protection is notably strictly by European standards which feeds straight into your play limit. Each site automatically applies a €200 weekly ceiling.
The Gaming Commission keeps one central exclusion register in EPIS: a single request is enough to stay out everywhere at once. Reversing it is not immediate. The age bar moved on 1 September 2024 from 18 to 21 for casino, hall and betting; lottery products are the exception at 18. Age is verified at registration.
